PISA_PT project promotes an open seminar

On 3 and 4 July, an Open Seminar was held at the Universidade Lusófona, in Lisbon, on the project “A Success Story? Portugal and PISA (2000-2015)”.

The seminar, which provided a wide-ranging debate among all participants, was attended by researchers from CeiED, PhD students, members of the research team, as well as the project consultants, Ana Benavente and João Luiz Horta Neto, a specialist in public policies and educational evaluation, and a researcher at INEP – National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira, an organization linked to the Brazilian Ministry of Education.

Researchers from the PISA_PT project gather for a follow-up meeting

A follow-up meeting of the project “A  success story? Portugal and PISA (2000-2015)” was held at CeiED’s facilities last Monday, focused on the development of tasks 5 and 6, dedicated, respectively, to the analysis of social representations and discourses about PISA in a selection of Portuguese newspapers, and in exploring in print periodicals of the professional associations and unions the emphasis and the nature of products on PISA, both informational and opinion-based.

PISA_PT research team receives Patrícia Ávila

The PISA-PT research team received and interviewed,  on Friday 22 March, the Associate Professor of the School of Sociology and Public Policy of ISCTE-IUL and  Deputy Director and Researcher of CIES – IUL, Patrícia Ávila.

The researcher, who has focused her work in the areas of literacy and competencies, and adult education, has clarified the PISA-PT team on the use of the concept of literacy and various methodological aspects related to national and international large-scale assessments aimed at young people and adults, namely on the study A Literacia em Portugal: Resultados de uma pesquisa extensiva e monográfica ⌊Literacy in Portugal: Results of an extensive and monographic research⌋, and the programs PISA and PIAAC – Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies.
